The Pirate Park at Palm Beach has to be one of the most popular parks on the Gold Coast. And why not, it has everything!
There is a fantastic playground, sure to spark imaginative play, a lovely grassed area for ball games and picnics, plenty of shade and parking, a cafe nearby, and the amazing Currumbin Creek inlet for shallow water play.
The playground has lots of interesting things to explore- pirate themed of course!
There are barrels, boats, a treasure chest full of booty, a crocodile, caves to explore and a pirate ship to navigate.
Kids can climb, spin, slide and row themselves crazy in this awesome spot!
Be warned, the slide is fast and little people will literally be thrown from the bottom. It’s also, shall we say, gritty? Not our favourite slide! Also, there are no swings here.
We do, however, love hiding in the barrels, rowing the boat and calling ‘land ahoy’ from the crows nest.
Make sure you take a bucket and spade for some sand play, either around the playground or at the calm-water beach.
The rest of the park is perfect for laying on a picnic blanket while the kids play (watch for green ants) and enjoing a coffee or reading a book. The playground isn’t fenced though, so supervision is a must.
After the kids have worked up a sweat take them to the creek for a cool-off. Sandy beaches under shady trees – what more could you want! There are stairs down to the water, and beach showers to clean up before heading home.
