The Gold Coast is a kids heaven with fun parks, beaches and over 300 days of sunshine per year. Grab a hat, bucket and spade, and a change of clothes: there’s plenty for little ones to explore. Here are five of our favourite fun places to take toddlers.
It’s one of the only beaches on the coast that has shade, with trees on both sides of the creek. Park near Jellurgal and walk around the headland pathway to a quiet natural paradise, or park on the southern side and be close to cafes, beach showers, toilets and a children’s playground.
There are no waves at this beach, but at times the sand bank can drop away and the current is strong. Stay between the flags.
The Rockpools at Broadwater Parklands
Lots of shade, no sand and plenty of shallow water to splash in makes this an easy few hours, as long as you don’t mind the kids getting a bit wet! There is a lifeguard on duty and good coffee isn’t far away.
Baby Rhyme Time at Gold Coast City Libraries
Learn fun songs that will help your toddler to learn body parts, numbers and familiar tunes such as Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. Very handy for you to re-learn songs from your childhood that you can sing at home, and a nice environment to meet other parents. Find their programs here.
Visit a Gold Coast playgroup!
Every day of the week, all over the Gold Coast mummies are getting together to enjoy each other’s company. Find the right playgroup and your toddler can enjoy a playground, toys, singing and dancing, and craft.
