All Abilities Playground Kurruwa Park Broadbeach

All Abilities Playground Kurruwa Park Broadbeach

The All Abilities Playground at Kurruwa in Broadbeach is one of our city’s best playgrounds for all ages.

It is fully enclosed and filled with excellent play equipment including two giant slides, climbing nets, flying fox, giant web swing, submarine, water and sand adventure play area, imaginative play areas, carosel swing, and of course play equipment suitable for children with special needs.

There is a pathway within the park that sprawls around the eqipment, perfect for little kids on scooters (but not big kids on bikes – the bike path running along the beach is perfect for big kids).

There is plenty of bench seating and toilets within the playground. There is also shady spots to throw down a picnic blanket (which is our fave thing to do) and watch the kids with almost a view of the whole park.

Jack Wilson Reserve

Jack Wilson Reserve

Jack Wilson Reserve in Robina is a pleasant neighbourhood park with a fun train-themed playground, magic fairy ring, offleash dog exercise area and BBQ facilities.

The playground here is quite good for kids 1-3 years old, and older kids up to 10 years old. There are parts of the playground that are close to the ground, incorporate steps and equipment suitable for toddlers.

There is also more challenging equipment for climbers, a standard set of swings and spring rockers.

We love the magic fairy ring, driving the ‘train’ and staying cool in the shade (take insect spray in the afternoon). The bridge over the creek (mostly a dry creek bed to explore) is also fun for short scooter rides.

The playground is on our list of fully-fenced playgrounds.

Parenting Advice

Parenting Advice

I was recently asked to share the best parenting adivce I had ever been given.

Handing out parenting adivce is fraught with danger and accepting unsolicited advice is totally up to the receiver. It’s an iffy subject at best, and I was a little hesitant to contribute – I’m no expert!

BUT I had carried my friend’s words with me for a few months, and thought to myself – they’re powerful words if I’m reflecting on them ALL THE TIME. They might be a bit philosophical for some, but helped me through a heap!

So, here’s the link!

Queen Elizabeth Park – opp Calypso Apartments

Queen Elizabeth Park at Coolangatta has two playgrounds. This is the smaller one opposite Calypso Apartments.

It has a good climbing frame and slide, swings, spring rockers and climbing walls.

It has gorgeous views of the beaches, benches to sit at (although not in the shade), a water fountain, and BBQ facilities are close by. We played here for over an hour- although small, there is plenty to do!
