Albert Park – Broadbeach Waters

Albert Park is a fully-fenced playground on Monaco Street, Broadbeach Waters set in a lovely shady natural setting close to the river. There is a car park right out the front, and it’s in a central location, so it’s a handy park to drop in for a quick play to burn some energy.

The playground has a large climbing frame with a large bridge, accessible by stairs, leading to additional climbing areas and a noughts and crosses game. It is a good climbing frame for children aged 4+. The bridge is fun for toddlers but the rest of the frame is too high and advanced for very young children.

The slide is accessible by a chain web or curved circle ladder. Unfortunately the two big pieces aren’t linked, which meant my toddler couldn’t access the slide (except by climbing up it).

For older children there is also a flying fox and swings.

Younger children can play on the small spring toys, the swings and a small manual digging machine that was the star of our visit. The ground is woodchip, so there is plenty of loose stuff to ‘dig’, although little ones will need help to coordinate picking up and moving the ‘dirt’.

There are picnic tables outside of the playground towards the river, and a water bubbler is just outside the fence for when the kids get thirsty.

A basketball court, walking path and off-leash dog park is close by.
